Weekly Coal Transport Report (US)
Report FAQ Report Methodology Sample Report -Adobe PDF
Genscape provides a timely snapshot of shipments of coal by basin and deliveries by selected plants in its Weekly Coal Transport Report. The data is derived from waybill information and daily lock shipment data published by the US Army Corps of Engineers. The report shows an accurate, near real-time reflection of the amount of coal that is being shipped by rail, the main method of coal transport in the United States. Subscribers to the report receive a weekly Adobe PDF file that shows the highlights of recent coal movements in the country. In addition, they get an extensive, detailed spreadsheet that allows them to filter by producing basin and consuming region down to the level of particular mines and plants. Users can track the quality of coal delivered to plants for example, or the largest buyers of coal from a particular mine. NumberGo Data File The Weekly Coal Transport Report also comes with an extensive and detailed data file which is viewable in the NumberGo software. By viewing the data in the NumberGo format allows the end user to run various queries to drill down into the data by simply using drag and drop pivot style tables on rail shipments by census region, mine origin, plant owner, destination plant name and other various queries. Once you have chosen to query your data from the file you may opt to export into Excel format.
