Chris Sternberg is the Managing Director of Oil at Genscape. Previous to joining Genscape, Chris Sternberg was the Global Director, Platts Oil Group, a division of McGraw-Hill. In his role there, Chris was the commercial manager of Platts portfolio of real-time news and pricing, market data, and end of day market publications. He was responsible for the development of new products, new clients and new business models by evolving product strategy, and executing change management across of team of 180 people in 16 offices worldwide.
Earlier in his career, Chris was the Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product Management at Aspect Enterprise Solutions, a software developer and service provider in the energy trading and risk management and oil supply chain automation segments. In a 5 year span, Chris led the effort from start-up to profitability while managing teams around the globe. He also spent time at United Communications Group (UCG), a B2B specialty information publisher, in their Oil Price Information Service (OPIS) business unit as a VP of Marketing and Product Development. Chris has a BSBA in Marketing from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
