Genscape monitors flow and output data across European markets and provides that information through a web-based interface and additional report products. More recently, Genscape has developed new technology for monitoring of gas transportation and storage systems. The international launch of a gas information service designed to meet the needs of the energy trading markets is foreseen for 2007.

Genscape is seeking a Senior Accounts Manager to provide sales and marketing of the Genscape suite of products. The main focus is sales to European utilities, power & gas trading companies, power generating groups, large energy consumers and other energy commodities players.

Essential Job Functions

  • Identify leads and prospects in a structured manner across Europe within designated markets
  • Secure significant new business from power and gas information products and services
  • Develop client relationships to ensure sustained/growing use of Genscape’s products and services with existing accounts
  • Provide market insights as input for new product development, market opportunities, and marketing engagements

Additional Activities

  • Contribute to the development of the sales and marketing plan for the European power & gas markets with emphasis on market developments, target prospects and the action plan
  • Regular reporting on leads and prospects progress, including near future sales forecasts (regular pipeline analysis & reporting)
  • In line with planned growth, recruit and manage additional sales personnel to expand our presence

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of sales experience with history of selling large ticket products/services to or within the European energy (trading) markets
  • History of substantial sales achievements specifically over the past three years
  • Solid knowledge of the power and gas markets in continental Europe
  • Willingness to travel extensively

Preferences

  • Personal contacts at prospective clients - European players involved in energy trading and marketing
  • Additional European languages (e.g. French, German, Spanish, Italian)
  • Locations to be considered: Amsterdam / London
