Position Summary
Genscape is seeking an individual to perform research, data analysis
and quality assurance for the developing North American gas monitoring
network. The Gas Data Analyst will work with internet technology,
engineering and client services personnel to guide the development
of quality assurance and analytics tools for Genscape gas products.
The analyst will assist in the transition of development products
to production. Independent projects including web research will be
a periodic part of the job duties. The analyst will perform some statistical
analysis, including regression analysis and error analysis.
The analyst position will transition into a production quality assurance
position or director level position in 12 to 24 months (estimated).
Job duties will then include continual monitoring of the gas network
data collection, internal technical analyses, client services support
and the solution of gas network hardware problems using field technician
resources.
Essential Functions

Work with IT and engineering personnel
to guide the development of software applications to convert gas
monitor data into physical variables such as flow.

Perform user-acceptance testing for the
internal tools and software as well as customer facing software.

Evaluate, select and adjust the results
of statistical models (e.g. linear regression).

Perform quality benchmarking for data
sets.

Work with IT as necessary to guide the
development of web scrapers and database infrastructures.

Perform web-based research to identify
and gather critical data sets.

Contact natural gas operators to obtain
information relevant to the gas product.

Pinpoint issues with data monitoring and
resolve remote hardware problems using field technician and engineering
resources.

Identify, document and track the resolution
of monitor hardware problems and quality issues.

Continual monitoring of the natural gas
data collection. Provide internal technical analyses and support
to the client services group.

Daily maintenance of the existing network
settings to ensure continued improvements in accuracy of flow /
storage estimates.
