Genscape has observed minimal impact upon the French grid this morning stemming from the proposed General strike called for today, June 13th. Generation data this morning shows the fuel stack behaving broadly in line with the previous 5 days with monitored Nuclear plants running at 64% of capacity for the hour 6am-7am CET. Click here to see a larger version of the Fuel Stack graph to the left. Similarly, net flows from France remained largely unchanged with aggregate cross border flows of 9100MW for the same hour versus a 5 day average of 9170MW.
The French Strike planned for today appears to be the non-event indicated by the Day Ahead Market which closed with little change day-over day in terms of electricity price.
Genscape will continue to monitor and update users throughout the day of any impact of the proposed strike at French power plants.
