Investors are eager to know whether the Utica shale is the next big thing. Until the Ohio well data report is released sometime in April, much is left to speculation based on preliminary production data and peak rate measurements. In a recent Financial Post article, Genscape’s Managing Director of Supply Side Analytics, Randall Collum weighed in on the discussion around peak rates: While notable peak rates have been recorded by companies working the area, “the peak rate is more a bragging type thing,” said Collum. “It is nice to know and gives some indication of potential production, but I would rather get a longer term outlook."
Once the Ohio report is published, the best way to stay “ahead of the market” is to take advantage of Genscape’s market moving natgas pipeline and production data. Learn more about our natural gas market services.
