Gulf Of Mexico Oil Production Returning This Weekend

Yesterday morning, Genscape's Crude Oil Production Report clients received the following notice:

Due to maintenance at the Pascagoula Gas Processing Plant, oil production has been shut-in at Gulf of Mexico fields who’s gas production had to be shut in due to the maintenance (the fields have been shut-in since May 3rd, impacting close to 200 mbopd).  The biggest oil producing fields shut-in were BP’s Na Kika (most recently producing ~80 mbopd) and Thunder Horse (most recently producing ~90 mbopd) fields.  Based on Destin’s update yesterday, oil production should be returning from Na Kika on Saturday, June 8.  Thunder Horse could return as well; however, BP mentioned that they would need to be shut-in for 45 days to prepare their water injection facilities, so most likely this will return to production in mid-June.

From Destin Gas Pipeline on 6/4:  The Pascagoula Gas Processing Plant (PGP) has advised Destin that the scheduled maintenance has been completed. Destin expects that the maintenance at MP260 will be completed by June 6, 2013. Destin will conduct operational readiness tests after completion of its maintenance. It is anticipated that Destin will resume normal offshore operations on or about June 8, 2013.
