Ricardo Falcon

A seasoned analyst, I recently joined the natural gas team to support day-to-day operations for the Mexico Gas Product. I ensure natural gas data quality, asisst with supply and demand modeling, and follow in-country infrastructure and market developments. I contribute analysis to our weekly Mexico Natural Gas Report, while supporting clients from the product management and analytica side. Prior to this role, I served on our Power team as a Senior Market Analyst in 2017, and as the Regional Director supporting our commercial expansion in Mexico. During my time here, I've developed new tools to interface with our proprietary platforms, including a fundamentals-based congestion analytics model for the day-ahead electricity market. As the local representative for key institutions such as the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), I also led the company’s successful registration as an External Trusted User (ETU) of Mexican ISO CENACE’s market information system. Prior to Genscape, I spent several years with IHS Markit’s Latin American Advisory Team focusing on non-technical risk, energy policy, long-term system modeling, market fundamentals and corporate strategy. I've worked with boutique consulting firms as well, supporting U.S.-based companies’ entry strategies into the Mexican renewable energy sector. In 2015, I completed an MA in International Energy at Sciences Po’s Paris School of International Affairs. While in Paris, I contributed analysis to GE Look Ahead, a technology and innovation research program sponsored by The Economist. I hold a BA in Political Science, a BA in Finance, and an MPA from Monterrey Tech (ITESM) and the Mexican School of Banking and Commerce (EBC).
